Frequently Asked Questions
When can I start volunteering?
Most of the volunteer opportunities take place during the school year and you can begin volunteering at any time. Ideally, we would like you to start at the beginning of the school year and continue until the end of that school year. However, there are always students waiting for a tutor or mentor, so please sign up at any time.
How will I know what to do when working with the students?
There are training programs for mentoring, homework help, and tutoring programs.
The training programs will equip you with the skills to effectively and efficiently prepare and conduct each session.
How do I sign up to be a volunteer?
If you are interested in becoming a volunteer at Trinity River Mission, first we would like to say thank you. You are one step closer to improving the life of a child. Second, we would like you to fill out the Volunteer Application Form. All volunteers must sign a release for a Criminal Background check, attend an Orientation, and interview with the program coordinator. Someone will contact you after receiving your application. Also feel free to contact Deisy Martinez, Outreach Manager, for further information at 214-744-6774 ext. 107 or by e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org.
